The first time I heard about this show from a friend, I complete misjudged what it could be. I believed it must be like any other series. But, my friend insisted and considering it was a ZEE5 show I thought of checking it out. I must say, it was a decision that I am happy I made it.
Churails is a fascinating thriller. The four young women form a secret detective agency with the purpose of finding and exposing unfaithful husbands. This story is based in Karachi and revolves around the lifestyle of the elites. They run the agency under the guise of a retail store. The plot revolves around four main characters, Sara, Jungu, Zubaida and Batool. They call themselves Churails (in literal terms #MainChurailHoon) The plot develops interestingly as one of them goes missing, and while investigating for her, they find that the challenges are bigger than they expected.
The show is produced by Asim Abbasi along with Mo Azmi and Shailja Kejriwal. It is also written and directed by Asim Abbasi. This web series features the likes of Sarwat Gilani, Mehar Bano, Nimra Bucha and Yasra Rizvi. There are also guest appearances by Anoushay Abbasi. It is available out for streaming on OTT Platform ZEE5 from 11th August. The web series has 10 enthralling episodes.
CINEMATOGRAPHY & EDITING
I personally liked the frames, and the way each frame is weaved together to make this look seamless. The editing by Kamal Khan and Kamran Shahnawaz is mesmerising. This enhances the experience of the webs eries.
STORY & NARRATIVE
This is one of its kind story. It is brave and powerful. It looks meaningful. It doesn’t look someone trying to force things on the frame. The narrative is smooth and subtle. The storyline has got good speed. The episodes move pretty quickly, and there is absolutely no dull moments in the show. Each episode is around 50-60 minutes.
Churails is bold, it address multiple characters brilliantly. It also shows the value add the characters of young women bring in.
The cast has been brilliant. The character of Sara, Jungu, Zubaida and Batool bring in life to the show. Not only that the supporting cast is perfect and helps bring in a wonderful character to the show.
The background score is brilliant. It does justices to the emotion that the frame builds up. It definitely enhances the involvement of the viewer. The detailing of each scene that gives the frame the depth it demands. Overall, the background score for this series has played a strong supporting role.
CHURAILS: CLASSY AS IT GETS
In short, Churails is classy as it gets, definitely a show not meant to be missed. I enjoyed my time watching this series. You would love the 10 hours spent on this. And, by the time you end it, you will be definitely saying #MainChurailHoon
