This is where I got all the ideas and inspiration to write my book EKA – Rendezvous With Your Life Forces.

TMR: Tell us about your experience writing the book EKA – Rendezvous with your life forces?

Arun Batish: It was a really natural progression, in terms of experience of writing this book. I knew I wanted to come to the world from the outside, with a book based on self-help genre. Like most authors, I write because I feel that I have to. It’s not exactly a compulsion, but it’s quite close to that. Writing makes sense of my world, which is what most of us want to do on some level or other.

TMR: What were the changes that you had to make to be an author?

Arun Batish: One BIG change that I had to make was to make myself clear that ”  THINK YOU CAN DO IT ALONE “. Almost every traditionally author I know is surrounded by a helpful community. How else would they deal with things like:

Frustration

Discouragement

Procrastination

Wanting to quit

When you’re starting out, I strongly believe another pair of eyes on your work can prove to be invaluable, I made is very clear that I don’t need any invaluable advise of my book, or else I’ll loose my originality and someone else’s brain will take the real essence of my book and make his/her own.

TMR: Tell us the overall concept of EKA?

Arun Batish: The concept of EKA came from my attitude of being a hardcore Monotheist & by having the same mindset. I also do not deny that others may have different beliefs with equal validity. The word EKA which means “Only One, Supreme Celestial Being, Solitary or Happening only once, Establishing consummate liberation from all differences, generic, extrinsic and intrinsic, To practice one principle” helps me understand that in life one needs to become a character of ” Yes & No ” and there is no room for “Maybe”.

This was the base idea that triggered me to write this book after my first one “HONIHA – ELIXIR OF HONEST EMOTIONS”. I am a strong believer that everything in life leads you to Eka.

Also, I believe that EKA sense resides in all of us and it leads to the path of righteousness, where-in it makes you smile gratefully every morning, makes you the first one to shine in darkness, makes you the first one to condemn when there is injustice. It also makes you do wonders when there is no hope, a fighter when life beats you down, helps you move forward when the world around is falling, makes you the toughest when going through tough phase, makes you heal faster when someone hurts you, makes you extend the first hand to a falling friend or family member and makes you feel that you’ve done the best when the day has ended.

TMR: When did you figure out that this helps, and how did you apply it?

Arun Batish: After, leaving school in the beautiful city of Shimla. I strongly considered joining the Indian Army and so one day on a practice hike in the Himalayas, my life took a bad turn. Whilst negotiating a treacherous crossing between two narrow cliffs, I slipped and took a free-fall into the deep gorge underneath. As I tugged open my parachute, the canopy ripped on the jagged edge of the jutting rock face and he plummeted to the ground from a height of 4,000 feet. The damage to the canopy allowed for only a partial opening of the parachute, causing me to land hard on the ground below, with the parachute pack crashing onto my back.

I lay unconscious for several minutes before I was finally rescued by my team. I was rushed to the nearest hospital where the doctor reported that four of my vertebrae were crushed, nerves were all compressed and when the reports came out, it was stated that I had come “within a whisker” of being paralyzed for life. During the recovery phase, doctors told me that it was questionable whether I would ever walk again. This was not just a shock for me, but also a turning point in my life. As a young man who had envisioned the life of an army officer ahead of him, I felt pained. And I fell into a period of deep heartbreaking pain as I spent the next eight months in and out of rehabilitation. As I healed I spent time meditating in a trance of deep introspection.

What saved me ultimately was my faith which grew stronger day by day as I started reading many of the ancient Indian texts like the Bhagavad Gita and other books on philosophy which made me realize that when the Divine gives us such life and death moments – it is because our soul seeks a greater understanding of life. Within a year of tenacious dedication and determination in the rehabilitation center, hard work in the physiotherapy room, I bounced back to new adventures that have hence taken me forward in life. This was when I realized my potential life forces and turned my life forever.

My book “EKA – Rendezvous With Your Life Forces” describes that a rendezvous happens with life forces every single day and you are the decision-maker to accept or reject these moments in your life and how ‘EKA –The One, Single and Supreme Sense’ helps you accept them in the purest form. The book describes how having a more vigorous ‘EKA’ can make you understand the realities of life and understand the secrets of an ecstatic life. The authentic essence of these life forces and how they represent part of your experience of being in the world are explained. The author explicates how ‘EKA’ helps you understand the puissance that runs through your subconscious mind and questions arising in your mind by being exposed to the realities and secrets of a blissful life!

TMR: What should readers do to benefit from the insights of EKA?

Arun Batish: As the world knows it already, ” Reading” has been shown to put our brains into a pleasurable trance-like state, similar to meditation, and it brings the same health benefits of deep relaxation and inner calm. Regular readers sleep better, have lower stress levels, higher self-esteem, and lower rates of depression than non-readers and this is exactly what reader of my book ” Eka- Rendezvous with your life forces ” should do.

My book ‘EKA- Rendezvous with your Life Forces,’ does talk about global consciousness, if you read all the chapters of the book, you’ll experience that all chapters have a base-line under the words where-in I have written that without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness. Nothing will change for the better in the sphere of our being as humans, and the catastrophe toward which this world is headed — be it ecological, social, demographic or a general breakdown of civilization — will be unavoidable. If we are no longer threatened by changing world scenarios this does not mean that we have won. We are still incapable of understanding that the only genuine backbone of all our actions if they are to be moral, is responsibility. I have written that “Life is an interdependent living organism that reflects the collective consciousness of humanity” & “Global transformation can occur only when each individual dares to awaken from this amnesia to our true self and then make conscious choices true to our spirit. The human race is the only species on earth evolved enough to be capable of this privilege “.

TMR: What are your favorite books?

Arun Batish: Reeading non-fiction, Realism & True-life events excite my grey matter. I am always fascinated by the words and inspirational writings of Ashoka- The Great, Julius Caesar, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Junior, Nelson Mandela, Paulo Coelho, Maya Angelou, William Shakespeare & Leo Tolstoy.

TMR: What are your plans for the writing journey?

Arun Batish: My writing journey is simple, write every day for 30 minutes. I allow no interruptions, no beeps, no notifications, and nothing to check for 30 minutes straight before my house gets lured by the smell of freshly brewed Himalayan coffee wake me up and I start my day of being a Human Resources professional. I do not want to think of a long time journey as off today  and I know this is not going away until I breath last, om planet earth.
