Celebrating world obesity day with a solution!

How often do we plan to get a lifestyle change to fight obesity? But we end up with some stupid crash diet or health hampering techniques. Obesity brings along a host of diseases like type 2 diabetes, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, sleep-apnea, PCOD, Infertility, GERD, gout, arthritis and many more. Thus, finding solutions becomes all the more important.

Dr Muffazal Lakdawala with “Team CODS” always finds a distinct way of making things easier for their patients or more importantly their family that spreads over the globe; Fighting from the challenge of obesity.

This time, they came up with an interesting concept of “Sneakers Only” meet at ProSport Fitness a gym at Lower Parel. This was to address all plus sized patients to help them get fit and improvise a better lifestyle.

Dr Muffi mentioned that the idea was to get movement for the whole body, and at the same time make them realise the fun that they can have during the workout.

The party started with Sport Scientist and Trainer Leandi Van Zyl, she gave a set of simple set of exercises that could be easily done every day at home. She continued with a session more like a Zumba with a blend of music and exercise. The patients and their families by then we’re enjoying sweating it out.

To the party came Dr Kavi Kumar Azad infamously known as Dr Hathi of tele-soap Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chasma. He loved the atmosphere at the Gym, made sure he wore the sneakers and got on the floor with the patients to move to hip hop music.

The day concluded post playing the treasure hunt game where the participants ended up running and twisting across the 4000 square feet gym.

For Dr Muffi and Team, they have certainly made it a point of promoting lifestyle change to fight obesity and help their patients get fit.
