An uncensored life of Zerbanoo Gifford by Farida Master
In case of Zerbanoo, the art of fighting for a better life for others started way too early. She was six when she raised around about 10 pounds in London by selling flags, which she sent to the then Indian Prime Minister Pandit Nehru, cause she felt motivated to work for the people back in Poona. A few years down, Zerbanoo found herself working for the rights of women, children and minorities.
By the time she was in her early thirties, she had already made an impact and was re-writing the political history in Britain. She faced threats and racism with her involvement in the politics. She was elected in Harrow, Middlesex as the first non-white woman councilor for the liberal party.
She is patron of several international charities and founder of the ASHA Foundation and center. She also set up the first Shelter shops in London when she was still a teenager. She was simply a story that was waiting to be written, with the positive impact that she was creating over the years.
Zerbanoo is special and so is her work that brought people of all faiths, traditions and backgrounds together. She helped them, cherish and create a haven of peace and beauty. Especially young people, from Britain, the European Union and the rest of the world came together to learn about conflict resolution.
Zerbanoo Gifford’s generous life spans the fields of human rights, politics, writing and philanthropy. She is global in her vision and achievements from directing Anti-Slavery International to establishing a world class centre for youth empowerment. This biography of a remarkable lady reflects the momentous changes of our age and the importance of investing in the future of the world’s young.
